I know someone who has this kind of attitude. A friend of mine eats a lot when she feels depressed, lonely or just feels like eating even though we have ate already. She knows she has no control on what she eats and how she eats, so I started to scour some articles to helped her but none of them was really helpful. Until I bumped unto this book on Kindle, and gave a try to read it and when I realize that this is the thing that can help her, I passed this book unto her and she thanked me again and again for buying it for her.. Quick Read and I learned something that I didnt know before. Liked the simplicity and not using extra words where not needed.
This book is short but that's what I like about it. I didn't feel overwhelmed by it. I feel like I gained many tools to help me. I am very glad that I bought this book and I am sure I will refer to it again many times.
The Binge Eating Cure is a great start to understanding why you eat emotionally and how to stop it. The author does a great job identifying possible triggers for overeating and strategies that will help you pinpoint your triggers and gain control.
I love take action books and this one fits the bill. Definitely recommend!
I guess I should have realized before buying this that it's only 30 something pages.. While this book does give some tips on how to distract yourself from binge eating it doesn't give any information regarding health risks or anything that would actually motivate you to stop the cycle. Telling a binge eater to just eat more fruits and vegetables (healthier) just makes it worse... And clearing out cabinets of yummy food just makes you feel deprived! If this is how all these books are on binge eating I guess I'm on my own! Oh well... God speed, He's the only one who gives us strength to be freed anyway!
Williams addresses the number one cause of obesity with care and intellect. This book is for anyone, really, because a lot of people don't know what triggers and how to resolve emotional eating. I wish there had been more recovery tactics, but readers will still get a lot out of the steps she highlights, such as throwing out processed and trigger foods.
The topic on binge eating is quite sensitive, as most people would think that binge eating is a bad habit and is usually socially unacceptable. I admire how the author managed to present the idea in a simple and concise manner. I absolutely agree to the fact that binge eating is correlated to emotional eating, and that this correlation should be considered as an alarm or sign for those who are more inclined to either situation.
Honestly, I have not even heard of this concept called 'Binge Eating'. However this book facilitates and supports your daily consumption of food by implementing you different kind of strategies to overcome this so called binge eating disorder. Thanks to Barbara Williams, I am now aware of this binge disorder and I would be able to manage my future eating habit in a more effective manner. Would be great if this book is more descriptive. Anyway it's a great guide!
