When fifteen-year-old Heather Jane Bell is diagnosed with alopecia and her hair starts falling out in clumps, she wants nothing more than to escape her home in London and disappear off the face of the earth.

Heather gets her wish when her concerned parents send her to stay with a great-aunt in West Yorkshire. But shortly after she arrives, Heather becomes lost on the moors and is swept through the mist back to the year 1833. There she encounters fifteen-year-old Emily Bronte and is given refuge in the Bronte Parsonage.

Unaware of her host family's genius and future fame, Heather struggles to cope with alopecia amongst strangers in a world foreign to her. While Heather finds comfort and strength in her growing friendship with Emily and in the embrace of the close-knit Bronte family, her emotions are stretched to the limit when she falls for Emily's brilliant but troubled brother, Branwell.

Will Heather find her way back to the comforts and conveniences of the twenty-first century? Or will destiny keep her in the harsh world of nineteenth-century Haworth?

"Absolutely spectacular! I couldn't put this book down, and was mesmerized from the first word until the very last. The Mist on Bronte Moor has made it to my favorites list." ~Kerri Cuevas, author, Deadly Kisses

"...a quick and engaging read that YA readers of all ages will enjoy." ~The Reading Cafe

"Mixing time travel, romance, history, and suspense, this new take on the Brontë family is refreshing and unique. Although a work of fiction, the story makes you imagine what it was like for the Brontë family in the 19th century. The Mist on Bronte Moor brings you on a vivid journey to a historical past." ~YA Vixens

I didn't think the "young adult" category would bother me as much as it did. As a "mature adult," I found Heather very irritatingly immature. Although I'm not a Bronte scholar, I have really enjoyed both Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, and found going back to 1833 before those novels were actually written was enlightening and fascinating. Historically, this novel seemed very well researched, and I enjoyed getting to know the Bronte family way more than I ever have before.

I also thought I'd be OK with the time travel part, but was also irritated with the explanation that just the mist was the portal back in time. I wanted the portal to be a bit more concrete, like a specific spot or object that Heather couldn't resist checking out. All that aside, the book was OK, but lacked an appealing heroine and didn't really have much of a plot.

When I read the description of this book, I wasn't sold on it, and actually passed it up.. then a couple of days later, decided to download it. I am so glad I took the chance. I was so engrossed in the story, the ending snuck up on me... and since there is not a second book, I may have to reread this one, because I want more. This has some pg style romance in it, and is suitable for young readers, but enjoyable for adults. If you like paranormal stories, mystical stories, light romance stories, or just plain easy fiction, I would recommend this book. It isn't horror, but there is a little suspense, and yes there is time travel, but it isn't like science fiction, and more like paranormal
I love historical fiction, but when it involves time-travel, the transition between time has to convince me or I won't buy the premise. Of course, I know it's fiction - still.

In The Mist on the Bronte Moor, Heather, the main character, flows smoothly into the past. First baffled by her surroundings, she comes up with logically reasons to explain the differences in time periods away. She soon comes to understand that time has ticked backward somehow.

I can barely remember what I learned about the Brontes in high school, so it was fun getting to know the family along with Heather, who at first, knows little about them herself.

This was a fun read with believable characters brought to life by the story's rich attention to details. It feels incredibly authentic, as though one really has stepped through the pages and back in time.

A must read for historical fiction and fantasy fans.
I've never read any books by the Bronte's, but I have seen the Jane Eyre movie. I also wrote a paper in high school on the enigmatic Emily Bronte, and ever sense then I've always been pulled to this interesting family.

Heather and Emily are great characters. I wouldn't mind being friends with either of them! Heather's life before getting pulled into the fog was average, well except for the alopecia.

Now, Branwell. Oh, I feel so sorry for this poor boy. There's nothing worse than watching someone ruin their life with drugs. He was so sweet, and then could snap in a second. Jekyll and Hyde.

I love reading books that are set in England. I felt like I was walking the moors with Emily. Or leaning next to a gravestone with Branwell.

Incredibly thoughtful book.
This is one of those books that totally removed you from your current time and place. You become so engrossed in it that you become part of it. Perhaps I enjoyed it as much as I did because I have always loved "Wuthering Heights" and "Jane Eyre." If you have not yet read these books by the Bronte sisters you may not get as much out of this book. The plot of this book almost suggests it is the stock from which the Bronte sister (especially Emily) derived their material for books. Such a creative approach I have never encountered in a novel and I love it! The book also introduces you to the Bronte family as a unit, and you get to know them on a personal bases (much of the elements in the book were based on fact). The main character of the book, who is the "time traveler," experiences her own array of adolescent emotions, traumas and personal growths. I think this book was written for the "young adult" audience, but as middle-aged, literature lover I couldn't have enjoyed it more!
Wow, this was such a good read that I had a hard time of stopping. I just wanted to keep reading to find out what happened. I felt really bad for the main character Heather. She's your average teenager and it's hard enough being a teenager anyway, but she also has alopecia. This makes it a lot harder for her. With her parents approval, Heather goes to stay with a great aunt that lives in Bronte country. The next day after she gets there, Heather goes out for a walk and gets lost in the mist that appears. Heather gets found by a girl named Emily and Heather thinks she is just a local neighbor. However, it turns out the Heather has somehow gone back in time to 1833 and has just meet the Bronte family. She spends roughly 3 weeks with them, and a lot happens in that time span. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone that is interested in what the Bronte family was like.
I would recommend this novel to 14-17 year olds who like mysteries, historical fiction, or novels with a touch of romance. I am much (MUCH) older, but a fan of the Brontes, so enjoyed the historical aspects and references. Each chapter begins with a quote from the real-life Emily Bronte's writings that foreshadow what is going to take place. I thought that was a nice touch. as well.
